Creative Communities is a year-long programme of free events, activities, and experiences run by the library service in Colindale specifically for local residents.

Recent events for children have included Gadgeteers at the RAF Museum, a paper aeroplane event delivered in partnership by with the RAF museum, Walking through the Jungle a theatrical performance of Julia Lacombe’s classic Children’s book and Explore the Floor, a play event for babies.

The focus in the summer holidays is on events for families but Creative Communities is for everyone and events for adults are being planned for September onwards.

Family Events in August include;

  • Mobile Library Visit to Grahame Park Concourse and Storytime on Tuesday 2 August
  • Gadgeteers Drama workshop with Freshwater Theatre on Wednesday 17 August
  • Foosball Challenge – A fun, fast and furious table football competition on Saturday 20 August
  • Create a STEM story with Ozobot on Tuesday 23 August. Using coding, robotics, LEGO, and the power of our imaginations, we’ll create our very own STEM story.
  • Barmy Llamas. Join us to make your own jointed llama puppet on Thursday 25 August

Please check our Creative Communities Programme for the latest information. New events are being added all the time!

Creative Communities want to come out into the community and talk to residents about what events and activities they would like to see in the local area. If you would be interested in getting involved in any way, please contact us at lendahand@barnet.gov.uk.
