By direct debt

The easiest way to pay your rent is to set up a direct debit.  We offer payments on the 1st and the 15th of the month.  You can download a direct debit form here

By standing order

Use a standing order from your bank or building society straight to your rent account. Our bank details are as follows:

Receiving bank: NatWest
Beneficiary: London Borough of Barnet

Please put your rent account number as the transaction reference. This is nine digits long and starts with a ‘1’


You can pay online by clicking here and you will be transferred to Barnet Council’s online payment service. 

By phone

Using a credit or debit card on 0845 356 3456. You will need your nine digit rent account number to use this automated service, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Electron cards and American Express are not accepted by this service.

Your housing officer can take payments by phone and these will show on your account the following day. Please call 020 8359 3102 to speak to your housing officer.

At shops with ‘paypoint’ outlets

Please phone us on 020 8359 5225 and we will send you a letter with a barcode on it that you take to a PayPoint outlet (where this logo will be displayed).


By post

All payments by crossed cheque and postal order must be made payable to ‘London Borough of Barnet’ and sent to:

Cashiers, Finance, 1 Floor Building 4, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London N11 1NP

Your address and nine digit account number must be written on the back of the cheque or postal order.
