If Barnet Homes has confirmed that you have a housing need, you can access the Landlord Incentive Scheme. It is important that you do not pay any money to a landlord before speaking to Let2Barnet.

What is the Landlord Incentive Scheme?

The Landlord Incentive Scheme is designed to assist households that are looking for properties in the private rented sector. You will be expected to find the property yourself. If you are able to find a property that is suitable for your household, the Landlord Incentive Scheme provides a financial incentive to the landlord to encourage them to take you on as tenants. Through the scheme, the landlord is required to give you a contract of a minimum of 12 months.

The financial incentive is determined by the size of the property, and it is paid directly to the landlord. Let2Barnet offers competitive rates to landlords – because we want to help you to secure a suitable property. For more information, call Let2Barnet on 0208 359 4761.

Some landlords require a deposit and/or rent in advance. The Landlord Incentive Scheme is not designed for this purpose, although the landlord may choose to accept the incentive instead of a deposit and/or rent in advance. If you already claim Housing Benefit, you may be able to apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment to cover your deposit. For more details, see:
