A big shout out to our major works contractor Quinn London who hosted two DIY workshops for residents on the Grahame Park Estate on the 2nd and 3rd of August.

Residents had the opportunity to gain access to a free DIY masterclass taught by experienced operatives and supported by their Social Value and Resident Liaison team. The group had the opportunity to gain practical skills in a small group, providing plenty of opportunity to practice their new skills under the guidance of instructors on a 1:1 basis. This method of teaching helps provide confidence in learning new practical skills and a wider understanding of materials and methods being used for the job, asking lots of questions and gain professional feedback.

Bianca Mesura, Social Value Manager for Quinn London said “We understand that with rising living costs, luxuries such as renovating the home isn’t always the first thing on the agenda, however the aim of the workshops were to boost confidence in tackling small DIY projects around the home and gain the knowledge and skills from the professionals who do this on a daily basis and save on costs.”

Feedback from some of the Grahame Park residents who attended the workshops included:

“I love the fact that I was working with other people and the teacher was encouraging and patient, it was a great experience and I felt welcomed by Quinn staff.”

“I enjoyed both workshops and found the topics really useful and interesting which I can use to find a job as well as do bits around the house with confidence.”

Quinn London hope to welcome those of all abilities to their next set of workshops, with dates to be arranged very shortly.
