Thank you for your request dated 13 September 2022, we have treated this as a Freedom of Information request. You have asked for the following information, please see our responses below in blue:
- In 2012 how many tenancy agreements were signed in Barnet in the 6 months prior to the change on 1st April 2012 and how many in the 6 months after please

- How many tenants have been allowed succession rights since 2012?
3. How many tenants in the last year have you terminated the tenancy without succession and not offered advice and support, or to help them access other housing options.
At this time, we do not record this information on our system. We might turn down residents for several reasons, such as the person wasn’t living in the property, so we would give them advice about going to Housing Options (erroneous application), or there may already have been a succession and so they would not be entitled.
In all cases we would refer the resident to Housing Options to do an assessment to see if they qualify, although they of course may not approach. If they do, they may not necessarily stay in the same property, they may get referred to a housing association or may go down another route. We don’t track people following referral and there isn’t a central log in our system to record this at this time.
