Test your heating

  1. Turn your heating on sooner rather than later to check that everything’s working before it gets cold.
  2. If there’s a problem, get in touch so we can book an appointment to fix it. Don’t wait until winter to see if there’s an issue!
  3. We carry out annual gas safety checks in your home. If your appointment’s due, make sure you’re in for it. These checks help to ensure your heating is running reliably and efficiently, whilst ensuring your safety. If you’ve missed your appointment, please get in touch to rebook as soon as possible.
  4. Check your radiators – if they’re cold at the bottom when they’re on, air may be trapped inside, so get in touch.

Help manage your energy bills this winter:

  • Turn appliances off rather than leaving them on standby!
  • Try to avoid putting furniture in front of or too close to radiators
  • Keep air vents clear to allow heat to circulate
  • Don’t cover radiators with washing
  • Wash clothes at lower temperatures – you could save around £34 a year!
  • Monitor your energy usage and submit regular meter readings!
  • Don’t allow yourself to get cold before layering up or taking other actions
  • Turn down your thermostat – Reducing the temperature your thermostat is set to by just one degree, according to experts can save you more than £100 a year!
