Initial Demolition Notice Under schedule 5a of the Housing Act 1985 as amended by the Housing Act 2004

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Barnet (“The Council) intends to demolish the properties contained within the Grahame Park Estate, Colindale NW9 (“the Estate”), listed below. The reason for the intended demolition is to enable the regeneration of the Estate and allow the building of new homes and facilities as part of the phased development of the Estate. The period within which it is intended to carry out the proposed demolition is 23 March 2015 to the 22 March 2022.

The date when intitial demolition notice or notices relating to the premises listed below will cease to be in force, unless revoked or otherwise terminated under the Housing Act 1985 Schedule 5A Paragrapoh 3, is the 22nd March 2022.

During the period of validity of any such notice or notices the landlord will not be under any obligation to make a grant of the freehold or of a lease of any dwelling house comprised in the below premises in respect of any claim to exercise the right to buy any such dwelling house.

There may be a right to compensation under the Housing Act 1985 Section 138C in respect of certain expenduiture incurred in respect of any existing claim.
