Street art agency, Global Street Art, and one of its artists, Dan, have pulled together input from Grahame Park Estate’s local youth and community groups to develop a piece that’s likely to leave an impression.

Two years on since Barnet Homes and Global Street Art began working together to install street murals around the estate, Dan’s newest piece on the block plays with different styles of letters from the alphabet in a way that connects to the Colindale site and scale he was given to work with.

Organisation of Young Africans’ Finn joined the action too, incorporating the Sankofa bird symbol in much of her work. The Akan people of Ghana’s native Sankofa symbol literally translates to ‘it’s not taboo to go back to what you forgot’. Its meaning? The important lesson of learning from the past to build for the future.

Injecting colour into Merlin Ball Park

Dan’s installation has injected vibrant colour around an estate currently undergoing a range of major work improvements.

The Merlin Ball Park first received some TLC from Global Street Art back in 2022. So, to liven up the space once more, we asked our friends to come back and create something temporary for the walling that is currently on-site.
