In June 2018 Barnet Homes received funding as part of the Rough Sleeper Initiative to help the government halve rough sleeping by 2022 and eliminate it by 2027.

As part of this, we are undertaking four rough sleeper counts with the first one taking place on the 26th September 2018 to capture single night snapshots of people sleeping rough in the Borough of Barnet.

Rough Sleepers are defined as “People sleeping, about to bed down (sitting on/in or standing next to their bedding) or actually bedded down in the open air”. For the purposes of the count, Rough Sleepers are not defined as beggars or street drinkers.

We need your help to find the locations of Rough Sleepers across the borough so that we can target our counts and engage with as many rough sleepers as possible to ensure they get the help they need.

If you see a person bedding down in Barnet, please email the Housing Options service at housingadvice@barnethomes.org and give the location and a description of the rough sleeper in as much detail as possible.
