“There is nothing higher than looking after other people, and that is what Dell Field is all about. Looking after people is what impresses me most. The staff have treated me very kindly. The staff care about the general comfort and happiness of the residents, something I see demonstrated throughout the day.”

Our community

We believe in empowering our residents to live healthy and active lives, encouraging and supporting them to participate as fully as possible with the activities taking place in the home, while respecting their individual wishes and being mindful of their specific care needs.

Being part of a community means residents share mealtimes and enjoy a wide range of activities and outings, enabling them to build friendships with one another and with the staff. We also pursue connections with many community groups and facilities and encourage family members to take part in an active way in the life of the home.

At Dell Field Court, regular activities are organised by our dedicated coordinator’s to help keep residents’ physically active and mentally sharp. These events can include music entertainment, creative activities, tea parties, summer BBQs, quizzes and bingo, as well as recognising the diverse cultural events that take place during the year.

We love getting out and about in the local community and our activities diary includes trips out to local theatre, cinema and restaurants, as well as seasonable trips to the coast.

Our beautifully looked-after garden is open year-round and residents love making the most of this in the summer months; those that are more able even lending their hand to some gentle gardening.

Friends and family are always welcome to visit Dell Field Court and we have returned to a more ‘open door’ policy to encourage regular visits while also being mindful of residents’ requirements for private, quiet time.

Your home

Our homes have been recently refurbished to the highest standard to ensure residents’ comfort and safety, and provide a happy and friendly living environment. The decoration has been chosen to provide a light and airy home that is also mindful of the needs of those living with dementia. All bedrooms have new, upgraded en-suite bathrooms and there are other accessible toilet and bathroom facilities on each floor.

All the bedrooms are fully-furnished, but residents are encouraged to make their rooms their own, with personal touches like photographs of family and artwork, keepsakes or items of furniture, where these can be accommodated, in order to do everything we can to make residents feel at home.

Bedrooms are also equipped with a motion sensor, and a new nurse call system, which quickly alert members of staff should any resident need support.

All our rooms have TV and telephone services, and there is WiFi available throughout the building.

We have hair dressing facilities on site, and a local hairdresser visits Dell Field Court once a fortnight so that residents can always look their best.

Person-centred care

Our mission is ‘To make a real difference to every customer’. Our vision is ‘For customers to be our biggest advocates.’

Our staff are passionate about making a difference to the lives of our residents, and every day they strive to improve people’s quality of life. and are proud to play an important role in this.

We use personalised care plans for each resident, to ensure they receive the highest levels of person centred care. These are regularly reviewed with the resident and their families, if applicable. If a resident has a medical appointment, or needs a healthcare professional to visit them in the home, we provide all the necessary care and support.

Dell Field Court has dementia-friendly home status, meaning staff are specially trained in dementia care to ensure they can look after residents living with dementia with care, diligence and empathy.

Dell Field Court is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission, who graded it as “Good” in their latest visit.

A kitchen at the heart of our home

Good quality food is vital for a resident’s health and happiness. A good meal can improve someone’s mood immeasurably, which is why we work closely with local suppliers to make sure every meal that we serve is tasty and nutritious.

All our meals are prepared from scratch on site, and menus are adapted to suit the changing seasons and needs of our residents, an additional benefit at Dell Field Court being the Asian kitchen that provides delicious vegetarian meals for our Asian elder community, alongside our traditional kitchen providing more choice for those that prefer a European diet

Cooking all our meals on site means that we can cater to specific dietary requirements, and tailor these in residents’ individual care plans.

Our in-house chefs are vastly experienced and take great pride in putting a smile on residents’ faces with their cooking.

Meal times are relaxed, communal times, with residents enjoying a chat with friends while enjoying their menu choices. Visitors and guests are always welcome to join residents during meal times, or just to spend a bit of time in our communal areas over a cup of tea.
