“As our brother’s family, we are extremely pleased with Meadowside care home. It is attractive, welcoming, cheerful and clean. The staff are friendly, capable, caring and seem to take a personal interest in the residents. My brother is very complimentary toward the facility and staff. He says “it’s a very nice hotel and the staff are wonderful”. We, his family, are very relieved and comforted knowing that he is in such good, capable hands”

Our community

We believe in empowering our residents to live healthy and active lives, as part of a community where life-long memories are made.

Being part of a community means residents build friendships, share laughter and enjoy a wide range of activities and outings. There is always something going on at Meadowside care home and we encourage residents and family members to take part, while respecting their wishes.

At Meadowside care home, regular activities are organised by our dedicated coordinator’s which helps keep residents’ bodies active and minds sharp. These events can include tea parties, garden parties, quizzes and bingo, and take in a wide range of cultural events over the year. We also have a wide range of activities provided by visiting professionals including theatre companies, local museums providing interactive reminiscence sessions, musical entertainers, visits from local nursery children and volunteers who facilitate reading and exercise sessions.

We love getting out and about in the local community, and regularly arrange trips to the cinema, seaside, museums, or simply going out for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Our beautifully looked-after gardens are open year-round and residents love making the most of them in the summer months; some even lending their hand at some gardening.

Friends and family are always welcome to visit Meadowside care home.

Your home

Our homes have been recently-refurbished to the highest standard so that residents are happy, comfortable, and most importantly, safe. They have been decorated in a light and airy way and have en-suite bathrooms with accessible toilet facilities. The innovative design of our homes includes dementia friendly colour schemes, circadian rhythm lighting and in-built falls sensors in all bedrooms. We also have separate dementia friendly living rooms complete with sensory equipment and on sensory garden, which are specifically designed for those residents who are living with dementia.

Rooms are fully-furnished, but residents are encouraged to make their rooms their own, with personal touches like artwork, keepsakes or items of furniture. We do everything we can to make residents feel at home.

All our rooms have TV and telephone services, and there is WiFi available throughout the building. Rooms are also equipped with assistance devices, which alert members of staff should any resident need support.

We have a hairdressers facilities on site, and a local hairdresser visits Meadowside care home once a fortnight so that residents can always look their best.

Person-centred care

Our mission is ‘To make a real difference to every customer’. Our vision is ‘For customers to be our biggest advocates.’

Every day our employees strive to improve people’s quality of life. Our staff are passionate about making a difference, and we’re proud to play an important role in improving people’s quality of life.

We use personalised care plans for each resident to ensure they receive the highest levels of person centred care. These are regularly reviewed with the resident and their families, if applicable. If a resident has a medical appointment, or needs a healthcare professional to visit them in the home we will provide all the necessary care and support. Residents are at the heart of everything we do and we hold regular resident and family and friends meetings to get peoples views and feedback, and to involve residents in every aspect of their care. We value the views and opinions of residents and their families and use feedback to tailor the service we deliver.

Meadowside care home has dementia-friendly home status and staff are certified dementia friends, meaning staff are specially trained how to look after residents living with dementia with care, diligence and empathy.

Meadowside care home is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission, who graded it as “Good” in their latest visit.

A kitchen at the heart of our home

Good quality food is vital for a resident’s health and happiness. A good meal can improve someone’s mood immeasurably, which is why we work closely with local suppliers to make sure every meal that we serve is tasty and nutritious.

All our meals are prepared from scratch on site, and menus are adapted to suit the changing seasons. A choice of menu is offered for every meal and staff will ask residents for their preferences before each meal.

Cooking all our meals on site means that we can cater to specific dietary requirements, and tailor these in residents’ individual care plans.

Our in-house chefs are vastly experienced and take great pride in putting a smile on residents’ faces with their cooking. Views on meals and menu planning are always welcome and discussed in regular residents meetings.

Meal times are relaxed, communal times, with residents enjoying a chat over their menu choices. Visitors and guests are always welcome to join residents during meal times, or just to spend a bit of time in our communal areas over a cup of tea.
