What’s it like to work for us
Every day is different and challenging but always rewarding.
We are specialists in our field, supporting hundreds of people with learning and physical disabilities.
Based on our commitment to look after our customers’ wellbeing and right to exercise choice, we advise and guide them to take control of their lives, whether that’s in their homes or out in the community.
So if you’re after a straightforward nine to five job, then we’re probably not for you.
What we are after
We need people who can be flexible in meeting the changing needs of this service and want to make a difference within a leading adult social care team.
The support you provide is essential to our service users, and you will gain excellent experience in a forward-thinking social care environment.
You must be prepared to go above and beyond for our service users, ensuring their needs are met while having fun along the way – it’s a vital requirement.
Our career offer
We offer a supportive working environment set up to help you develop your social care skills and reach your potential.
We are committed to ensuring equality and diversity. We will treat you with respect, giving you the flexibility to get on with your job as you think best within clear boundaries agreed with your manager.
We aim to make you proud of what you do, proud to be making a difference, and proud to be empowering people to live the lives they choose, as independently as possible, with Your Choice Barnet.
What we offer our employees
We offer generous annual leave, based on your length of service and salary grade. This will be between 22 to 29 days. After completing three and five years of service, you become entitled to additional leave.
We’re committed to helping you manage changes in your life. We offer a range of generous pay and leave benefits, maternity, adoption and paternity provision and job share schemes.
We offer a contributory pension scheme. After joining Your Choice Barnet, you will be entitled to become a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Career learning and development
We provide learning and development opportunities for all levels of staff, covering training for work specific topics, general management courses and a learning environment.
You can benefit from a significant reduction in the cost of childcare by changing the way you pay for any registered childcare (for children under 15 years old) and signing up to Childcare Vouchers.
Season ticket loan
Employees are able to apply for a 12 month, interest free season ticket Loan.
Workplace support and resources
We offer employees a telephone support and advice line and face to face confidential counselling service.
