The Barnet Group contractor WG Wigginton Ltd recently supported residents at Minerva House, our refuge for women fleeing domestic abuse.

Residents at Minerva House needed some seating for their communal area, so Alexandra Brooks from WG Wigginton worked together with the Solace Womens Aid staff at the refuge and sourced two leather sofas for them from local charity The Barnet Furniture Centre.

Louise Acunzo Service Manager for Solace Women’s Aid said “We cannot thank WG Wigginton enough for providing these beautiful sofas and especially for your time and care in arranging it all. The living room has been transformed into a welcoming environment for our residents, lifting their spirits when they enter the room. It is so heartwarming to see our families spending quality time together and interacting with other residents which is pivotal in reducing their isolation and enabling their recovery from trauma. It really has had a huge positive impact on their well-being. Thank you so much.

Alexandra Brooks, Social Value and Marketing Manager for WG Wigginton said “We are truly grateful for the opportunity to give back. Providing sofas to the refuge was a small way to help create a warm and welcoming space for the women and children who need it most. At WG Wigginton, we believe in supporting our community and making a difference wherever we can.”

Nihal Ates, Domestic Abuse Manager for the Barnet Group said “We sincerely appreciate Wigginton’s generous contribution of sofas to our refuge. Transforming the space into a more welcoming and homier environment is vital for the women and their children. The presence of essential furniture, like the sofas provided, plays a crucial role in helping to create a sense of safety and belonging, which is key to their recovery journey.

Thank you for your continued support WG Wigginton.
