The scheme is run via a salary sacrifice meaning you won’t pay tax or national insurance – this saves you between 32% and 42%* on your new bike and accessories. This reduced cost is simply deducted out of your payslip over 12 or 18 months, so no need to worry about large one-off costs!

Flexible Working

The Barnet Group encourages approaches to ways of working that enable its workforce to carry out their duties in a flexible, efficient, and effective way. It places emphasis on the importance of improved productivity and the health and well-being of both staff and customers, as long as the needs of the service and customers are being met and required outcomes are delivered.

Innovation Fund

The Innovation Fund is a financial resource for staff to realise innovative ideas that could benefit the business either for the staff directly or for the customers we serve. The fund is now managed by a panel of five staff members from across the business. The most recent beneficiary was a result of Lydia Oyeniran’s proposal for mental health café, The Friendly place.

TBG Networks

The Networks are an opportunity for staff to contribute to the engagement, communication and empowerment of fellow colleagues in The Barnet Group.

The Social Network is a platform to share ideas for staff social event or awareness day. Our past events: Diwali Lunch, Big Bang Quiz Night, Christmas Jumper Day, Christmas Party, Clothes Swap Event, Summer Party.

The People Network is all about the staff voice. Each member of The People Network represents a service area across The Barnet Group. The main objective of the Network is to discuss top-level issues and solutions. A smaller group of the Network reviews proposals from staff for the Staff Innovation Fund.

Communications Networkers are the eyes and ears of the business and their role is to make sure everybody knows about the positive work going on in all corners of The Barnet Group.

TBG’s Employee Volunteering Scheme

The Barnet Group recognises that it and its employees have a significant role to play in the communities in which we work. The Group actively encourages its employees to develop their skills within the context of their personal development plans, and to harness their skills to add value to the many voluntary and community organisations that rely on volunteers.

The Barnet Group allows employees to take up to a maximum of two working days of paid work time per year (pro rata for part-time employees) for community volunteering. Supporting its employees to volunteer helps The Barnet Group to build stronger links with the local community, and contributes to achieving the aims of its Strategic Plan.
