We are currently experiencing a severe shortage of accessible accommodation which is having a number of negative impacts. Most importantly it’s affecting the wellbeing and independence of our vulnerable neighbours.

If you’re a private landlord you could support these vulnerable people to remain independent and give them back quality of life by agreeing to property adaptations to meet their medical needs. Property adaptations can be as big or as small as you feel comfortable with, including removable external ramps and stair lifts, level access showers and wet rooms, or converting your property to meet the needs of a full time wheelchair user.

The adaptations will be carried out by a qualified and trusted contractor and the cost of the works paid for by the council. You will be shown CAD drawings of all proposed works and no adaptations will be made without your approval.

If you kindly agree to adaptations, the council will give you £1000 to say thank you. This payment is in addition to any financial incentive offered by the Let2Barnet team.

We will also ensure that rent and council tax payments are covered whilst adaptations are being carried out if works can’t be done with the tenant in situ.

Make it your new year’s resolution to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people- contact the Let2Barnet team today to discuss adaptations to your property.
