Thank you for your request dated 26 October 2022, we have treated this as a Freedom of Information request. You have asked for the following information, please see our responses below in blue:

 

We would like to know:

 

  1. The number of people placed in temporary accommodation (including B&B’s hotels etc) after making a homeless application..

 

Over the last 3 financial years plus the first 6 months of this financial year:

 

  1. a) the financial year ending March 2020 – 884 households new in Temporary Accommodation (TA)
  2. b) the financial year ending March 2021 – 751 households new in TA
  3. c) the financial year ending March 2022 – 729 households new in TA
  4. d) the first six months of this financial year from April 2022 – September 30th 2022 – 352 households new in TA

 

  1. The total cost of temporary accommodation (including B&B’s hotels etc)

 

Over the last 3 financial years plus the first 6 months of this financial year

 

  1. a) the financial year ending March 2020 24,937,075.02
  2. b) the financial year ending March 2021 25,759,495.45
  3. c) the financial year ending March 2022 22,078,673.41
  4. d) the first six months of this financial year from April 2022 – September 30th 2022 9,972,695.21

  1. How many homeless applications have the council received over the last 3 financial years plus the first 6 months of this financial year

 

  1. a) the financial year ending March 2020 – 2578
  2. b) the financial year ending March 2021 – 2145
  3. c) the financial year ending March 2022 – 2123
  4. d) the first six months of this financial year from April 2022 – September 30th 2022 – 1194
