The relaunch of The Friendly Place was held at Burnt Oak Library on Wednesday 6 October. The project aims to support those with mental health issues, providing a safe space to meet, socialise, encourage their engagement and not be judged.

Six residents attended, along with staff from Barnet Homes’ Floating Support Team, Outreach Barnet and adult and health services.

Discussion was held with residents about their likes, dislikes and how best the project can support them, which led to further conversations about what is important to them and how their backgrounds influenced their beliefs. Lunch was provided through kind donations from Burnt Oak Wenzels.

We’d like to thank BOOST for hosting our launch event and The Barnet Group’s Covid-19 Community Fund for financially supporting this project for a further 12 months.

The Friendly Place next meeting will be held at the RAF Museum on 20/10/2021 from 10.30am – 1pm.
