Now that summer is in full swing, there’s nothing like being able to take some time out and enjoy the many beautiful parks London has to offer.

So there’s no better time to indulge in some park life than July 20th – 27th as it is National City Parks Week 2019! Closer to home, local charity The Hope of Childs Hill is participating in the week long parks festival by offering UrbanParkz.

Urban Parkz is about encouraging residents to enjoy the green open spaces that Barnet has – with an urban twist. Local young people and adults can enjoy a day of learning tricks and stunts on BMX bikes and skateboards at Basing Hill Park on Saturday 20th July from 12 midday to 5pm.

These exciting bike stunt workshops will be taught by none other than Pro BMX rider Matti Hemmings, who also holds three Guinness World Records.

The workshop will also provide free refreshments and, the opportunity to being a part of keeping Basing Hill Park green and beautiful, by asking for your help to do some gardening and litter picking as part of the day of activities.

Just bring yourselves and a positive attitude.

The Hope of Childs Hill is a local initiative geared towards encouraging the residents of Childs Hill to adopt a healthier lifestyle. You can find out  more about their work here.
