Are you a long-time resident of the Watling Estate? Or do you have historical connections to the estate and the surrounding areas through family friends? If so, we need your help.

To celebrate the centenary of the Addison Act, we’re looking to collect as many of your memories of the Watling Estate as possible and publish a small book with a collection of your stories, photographs and mementoes.

2019 marks 100 years since the Housing, Town Planning, Act 1919; also known as the ‘Addison Act’, which saw the start of mass public housing in the United Kingdom. The Act was named after Dr Christopher Addison, who was Housing Minister at that time. Dr Addison was the main author of the Act.
