Dear Mr Francis

Thank you for your request for information received on 12 March 2019; we have treated this as a Freedom of Information request, please see our responses below in green:

  • how much is spent by your council on housing “statutory homeless households” (which your council owes a duty to under the Housing Act 1996) in temporary accommodation in 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18

I’d like to see the above information broken down between temporary housing in: Bed and breakfast hotels (including shared annexes), Hostels (including Women’s refuges), Local Authority or Housing association stock (if any), Leased from the Private Sector by an LA or HA, Leased form Private Landlords, and those who there is a duty owed but no accommodation secured.

Year Amount £ Amount £
PS Landlords TP Rents Temporary Accommodation
2015-2016              2,968,525.72     17,944,465.01
2016-2017              3,338,974.06     21,452,285.60
2017-2018              3,973,684.99     20,355,871.89

Unfortunately we do not capture the amount paid to each Temporary Accommodation (TA) Provider in total but not according to the TA scheme their properties are used as so cannot provide you with the requested breakdown.
