Get Online Week is the UK’s biggest digital inclusion campaign. It’s all about getting supporting people who need help to improve their digital skills.

In 2018 there are still 4.3 million people in the UK with no Basic Digital Skills and 11.3 million people have only limited abilities online.

Anyway, why are digital skills so important?  Job prospects,  accessing the community, best deals for utility services – so many aspects of life are now completely managed online.

For those of you who do have some digital skills you are happy to share why not become a Volunteer Digital Champion? You don’t have to be Steve Jobs – as long as you know your way around around a computer and like helping people – that’s usually enough.

One of our partners, FuturePath, are looking for people to become a member of their Digital Champions Network.

Once you become a member you get:

  • More training and access to CPD accredited learning
  • To help people in the local community improve their digital skills and therefore their life opportunities in general
  • Assigned a laptop which you can keep after the course

To add to your skills, perhaps to improve your CV or job prospects and if you complete the scheme they will give you a reference if you need it!
