Deepa Mistry, a resident of Granville Road in the Child’s Hill area of North London, has raised hundreds of pounds for the Little Princess Trust so far by shaving off her hair so that it can be made into a wig for a child suffering from cancer.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides wigs for young patients with the illness, both children and young adults, who have undergone radiation treatments.

Deepa shaved her hair down to a number 1 clipper grade at her child’s summer fair at the end of June this year. In addition to donating her hair to the charity, Deepa’s gesture has also encouraged donations from family and friends and shown solidarity with those who are receiving assistance from the Trust. She described the decision to part with her hair as ‘a small price to pay for an instant smile’.
