The London Borough of Barnet’s Planning Committee  has granted permission for a 51 flatted extra care scheme at Stag House in Burnt Oak.

The scheme, will provide care for older people in Barnet and will be funded in the most part by the Borough with a grant of £4m coming from the Greater London Council.

Stag House will be fully wheelchair accessible, and have extensive communal facilities with a  landscaped communal garden, enabling older residents to live fulfilled and independent lives.

Work is due to start later this year on the 42 one-bed flats, five wheelchair-accessible one-bed flats, and five two-bed flats.

Barnet Homes is developing and will be managing the scheme on behalf of the London Borough of Barnet.
