The Barnet Group received dozens of nominations from you for fellow customers you felt deserved recognition for their invaluable contribution to our communities.

On Monday 7 November, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM), at the Hendon Hall Hotel, which was followed by a very special awards evening for customers with The Worshipful the Mayor of Barnet, Councillor David Longstaff in attendance.

Our Chair Terry Rogers, praised all the nominees and winners of the 2016 Customer Awards evening.  ‘The Barnet Group put on an outstanding ceremony.  It provided the perfect backdrop for the deserving contingent of residents who willingly go that extra mile to improve their estates and help communities. Everyone deserves our thanks and congratulations.’

Some of the stories that really inspired the judging panel included one of our customers from the Your Choice Barnet service who has moved into Supported Living and is working towards living independently.

Nutmeg CommUnity’s Rui Octavio, co-founder of the charity that empowers young people, delivered a rousing speech. The rest of the evening was a real celebration of the outstanding achievements by Barnet Homes’ residents and Your Choice Barnet customers plus their parents and carers throughout 2016. The night ended with a film of the Urban Gamez – another highlight of our year!

We want to thank all the nominators, nominees, and our sponsors Mears, Robert Heath Heating and Morgan Sindall for making this event so special.

Our Chief Executive Troy Henshall attended alongside Director of Care and Support (YCB) Julie Riley and The Barnet Group’s Director of Operations, Elliott Sweetman who handed out awards to the lucky winners!
