The Assist vision – To enable people to remain safely independent in their own homes for longer through the use of assistive technology and technology enabled care.

In 2004 Assist (previously known as Lifeline), transferred along with many other services from Barnet Council to become part of the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) Barnet Homes.

Assist is the community alarm centre for Barnet Homes and uses a range of assistive technology and technology enabled care to support individuals within the community.

Assist is made up of three teams that provide services 24 hours a day, 365 day a year.

The majority of our services are focused within the London Borough of Barnet and the London Borough of Brent. However, we do also support individuals within Camden, Haringey, Waltham Abbey and Westminster.

Services are available for both members of the public and registered social landlords.

Barnet Homes – Established as an Arms Length Management Organisation in 2004, Barnet Homes has cemented a reputation as one of the most innovative companies of its kind in the UK.

 We are proud of:
  • Resident involvement. More than 3,000 households from the 15,000 homes we manage have joined our Viewpoint involvement forum, and we have our own resident scrutiny group, the Performance Advisory Group.
  • Efficiency. We have cut our operational costs in real terms by more than 15 per cent since our creation in 2004.
  • Quality performance. From gas servicing to rent collection, we are among the highest performers in the UK. That’s reflected in rising resident satisfaction with our services. We have taken on additional housing services from Barnet Council, including housing advice and allocations.

It means people will know who to turn to from when they become homeless to when they no longer need a tenancy. Find out more about what we offer at Barnet Homes.
