Opendoor Homes, The Barnet Group’s registered provider of social housing reached another milestone recently, with the 600th home being let to residents.

The homes are a mixture of new developments built by Opendoor Homes, and those acquired on the open market. From a standing start in 2016, this remarkable growth means that long-term homes have been provided for over 600 households.

The most recent homes to be completed are at Friern Court, where 11 new flats make up Allom Court. The homes were built on previously underused land, and show a new approach to building homes in a built-up area. These 11 homes, together with sites at Summers Lane and Basing Way will mark the completion of Opendoor Homes’ original programme of 341 new homes.

But with the need for affordable housing increasing, Opendoor Homes will continue to build and acquire new homes to meet demand. These new homes, and the end of the first programme of construction is just the beginning.
