There’s nothing like coffee, tea and cake to bring people together – and the growing popularity of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning proved no exception at Barnet House recently.

The aim of Macmillan Cancer’s coffee morning is to raise money for medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people living with cancer.

Our staff whole-heartedly got behind the coffee morning, which was dedicated to two Barnet Homes’ colleagues who lost their battle with cancer recently. Many colleagues baked, and those who didn’t, very generously donated.

The morning raised £750, smashing the £500 target from 2016,  with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer.

While one in three of us will get cancer, Macmillan  also recognised that it affects family, friends and carers too – which means most of us are affected by the ‘big C’ in some way.

So far this year, Barnet Homes’ staff have raised more than £1,500 for charity.
