Across our Your Choice Barnet Services, there are many amazing stories about our staff and service users.

Since as today is the International Day of Disabled Persons we thought it would be a good opportunity to celebrate an extra-special achievement from Your Choice Barnet. This time from CommunitySpace (although other Your Choice Barnet services are involved).

For the past year, green-fingered staff and service users from CommunitySpace have been growing plants, fruits and allotments at an allotment in Barnet.

This industrious little CommunitySpace group have been hard at work using the produce they grow in their allotment to make seasonal produce. Most recently they have turned their hand to making Christmas wreaths and festive centrepieces.

The group also have an official name, Plot 52! This is a collaboration between Sweet Tree Farm and Your Choice Barnet to provide gardening and enterprise opportunities for people with support needs on a community allotment.

One of the things Plot 52 is aiming to do is sell their produce at another social enterprise… the teenage market in Chipping Barnet. Watch this space!

There are lots of things (and lovely produce) about to bloom from this project soon, we’ll keep you updated.
