What it is like to exist in a world with no sound? What most people don’t realise is that deafness affects a lot more than just your hearing – it can actually have an impact on everything from mental health to job prospects.
CommunitySpace used Deaf Awareness Week (6-12 May) as an opportunity to join together and learn extra British sign language and some new signs. Service users also gave each other unique sign names.
Staff and services users spent Deaf Awareness Week engaging in positive activities to support their deaf colleagues and friends.
