YCB is pleased to announce we are now predicting a better financial outcome for Your Choice Barnet this year and believe that we will have a small surplus by the end of the financial year. Surpluses are important for an organisation like ours because they allow us to invest in service improvements such as replacement furniture, equipment and new IT for the services and it also provides us with the opportunity to improve and increase our training programme for all staff.

As well as a commitment to a minimum starting salary of £9.15ph a generous pension scheme, annual leave and sick pay conditions for staff, we have also made a further offer to Unison and we await their response on this.

We believe that Unison is unrealistic in thinking that if services are returned in house LBB will re-instate the pay cut, and furthermore we believe that if services are run by another provider, the pay and terms and conditions staff currently have with YCB will be greatly reduced.

We sincerely hope Unison will accept our offer as we do not want service users and their carers affected by further strike action and instability.
