Flower Lane hosted its second fun and fundraising day on Saturday 21 September, a year to the day since the first hugely successful event. Despite the ever threatening rain the day was very well attended and everyone had a ball – raising over £1,200 for the service!

The stalls were amazing – the cake stall alone covered three tables and the raffle display was a work of art. The Pimms and wine flowed and guests were hard pressed to choose between the delicious Indian buffet and the BBQ manned by Diana from Flower Lane and Shirley from Supported Living. Nick and Ian provided the live band, with Kevin and Susie from Flower Lane taking the stage too and getting everyone dancing along. The brilliant display of Sanjuro soon had a big crowd trying out their martial arts skills, the youngest being Nevvy, the 5 year old daughter of Kimberley Wadham, the Barnet Group’s Customer Engagement Coordinator.

In his zeal to clear up after the event, Tom from Flower Lane gathered all the service’s disco CDs together and donated them to the local charity shop! This really is a new spin on fundraising – buying back your own CDs from a charity shop!

We’re all looking forward to the third Flower Lane fun and fundraising day next year. Well done all at Flower Lane and thanks to everyone who contributed so generously to make the day such a success.
