One of our contractors recently completed some major refurbishment at a sheltered scheme and its residents are delighted with the results.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Effectable Construction listened to feedback from the residents of Hanshawe Drive that an accessible toilet in the communal kitchen/lounge area would make a huge difference to their lives.

In the end, Effectable Construction embarked on a bigger project than originally planned and ended up not only installing an accessible toilet (which is now also suitable for wheelchair users), but upgrading the kitchen with cupboards, worktops, flooring and new appliances.

The new upgrade to their communal area has made such a difference to the residents at Hanshawe Drive. The communal space is much better laid-out and the open style makes it more amenable for social gatherings at the scheme and for friends and family to visit residents.

On behalf of all the residents at Hanshawe Drive, their resident representative, Marge Lacey, praised Effectable Construction for their professionalism and patience on the job:

“The residents at Hanshaw Drive would like to thank Effectable for the work done to refurbish our common room kitchen and install a disabled toilet. Your workers Ian and Peter did a great job, were polite and made sure the area was kept clean and tidy.”
