What do the Teenage Market, The Syrian Kitchen and the Mill Hill East Community Gardens have in common?

They are all local projects that were given life through Spacehive, Barnet Council’s crowdfunding platform.

This initiative aims to give residents with local project ideas the ability to attract funding from the community, council, businesses and foundations through one portal.

Barnet Council is delighted to announce that they are extending their partnership with Spacehive to provide a crowdfunding platform for the borough.

The council want to hear your ideas from local people for improving Barnet! Whether it be by enhancing high streets, neighbourhoods, or parks; or supporting vulnerable people and bringing communities together. Projects could be focused on physical improvements that leave a lasting legacy, or they could be events or activities that last for just one day or one week.

Through Crowdfund Barnet, Barnet Council and its Spacehive partners, GLL and Veolia, will put up to £5,000 into crowdfunding projects that support the outcomes and priorities in Barnet’s Corporate Plan, and can prove they have wider support from the community.

The first funding round will be held this autumn, the deadline to submit your projects is 11th November 2019!

To learn more, set up your own crowdfunding project, or support others, visit the Spacehive website.
