At @Loveburntoak our experienced and non-techy Digital Champions are here to provide helpful advice every week through a range of workshops. Regardless of your level and knowledge of technology these workshops are open to all.

Every Tuesday between 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Pop in anytime with your smart phone, tablet or laptop for help and advice. We have computers on site so can also help with anything internet related


8 February 2018 – Putting the “smart” in smartphone

Whether your device is running Android, Window’s or IOS we are here to help you learn the basics on how to navigate your way around a smartphone or tablet. Basic advice on how to turn them on/off, make and receive calls, adjust settings, installing and using applications.

15 February 2018 – Smart travel

We will show you the many useful apps and internet sites that can help with your everyday travelling as well as booking cheap flights and holiday breaks away. This session will provide advice on how to install and use travel apps on your smart device and the internet to get around on buses, taxis, underground, trains and worldwide travel.

22 February 2018 – Smart fit

There are many apps for your smart device that can help you stay fit and active to achieve a healthier mind, body and soul. We will show you the best internet sites to easily join a local health club and get discounted membership rates.

1 March 2018 – Smart citizenship

From taking part in online consultations to paying that unexpected parking fine, it’s becoming more and more beneficial to communicate with your Council online. From paying your council tax to reporting problems to council officers or your local councillor, doing this online or through your smart device or online is quicker and easier. We will also show you how to carry out every day transactions such as renewing your road tax online and paying your TV licence.

8 March 2018 – Smart security

One of the biggest concerns we all have about technology is risk of being scammed and staying safe online. We will dispel some of the myths and show you how to stay safe whilst online and make sure your smart devices are always safe and secure. We will show you how to set passwords and tips on how to remember what they are.

15 March 2018 – Smart savings

Recent research from Lloyds Bank showed that regardless of income, individuals can save up to £744 a year from being online. We will show you the best price comparison websites for insurance, using discount codes and how to save money switching your gas, water, electricity or broadband provider.
