The opportunity to learn a trade while you earn is not to be underestimated.
It’s a New Year, which is the ideal time to start something new. Our contractors Mears are recruiting for three apprentices to train in plumbing, carpentry and electrics.
The apprenticeships are for a duration of two years. For the first year the salary is £3.50 per hour, regardless of age, which amounts to approximately £7,000 per annum.
The salary increases in the second year of the apprenticeship in line with rates published on the gov.uk website – this figure is age dependent.
That’s the earning part. The learning part involves a day release from work to attend a day of college. As a Mears apprentice, you will spend the other four days working assisting our employees who carry out responsive repairs on our maintenance contract.
