Age UK are holding a special community event to support older people in Barnet and they’re throwing in a free lunch for good measure!

The day is aimed at encouraging older people in Barnet to lead an active lifestyle and has a lot on offer. There are information stalls about services,  plus indoor and outdoor activities and some exercise demos.

Barnet Wellbeing Day is on Friday 14 July and takes place at the Burnt Oak Leisure Centre, Watling Avenue, Edgware, HA8 0NP. The day opens with a cup of tea at 10:30am and then the programme of events runs from 11:00am until 14:30pm.

Loneliness continues to be an issue for so many people as they grow older. According to Age UK, 3.9 million older people agree that the television is their main form of company. This is why events like Barnet Wellbeing Day are so important. Make sure you join in with the day or tell any older people in your life to have an afternoon out. There’s a free lunch!
